Inspirations

Every day, I walk my dogs. Sometimes it is crappy out, sometimes beautiful. I try to think of it as an opportunity to be outside. Certainly Dervish and Whisper LOVE OUTSIDE... no matter what kind of weather it is!  So, by their influence, I decided that these little walks would be inspiration walks.

I bring my camera and a bag, in case I see something beautiful, interesting, fragile or collectible>

Daily, I find an object of inspiration. Cool sticks, branches, robin eggs (such wonderous color annd all different). I have quite a colection and in some way, it will be in my art!

The Tiger by William Blake

Check out this website I found at mail.google.com

One of my favorite poems.
William Blake. 1757–1827

The Tiger

TIGER, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies 5
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart? 10
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp 15
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee? 20

Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

From Big Trees to Tiny Moss

From the giant trees with muscular branches and strength, to the tiny mosses, beauty, delicate, intricate details are every where in the world, if you just take the time to LOOK.

Inspiration Walks

Taking my dogs for a walk in the park in the cold wet spring can be depressing....
Until I take out my camera and look at EVERYTHING up close. Just like the dogs!!! ( minus the sniffing and tasting )
Exhilaration sets in and my eyes are transfixed! And my brain is engaged!

Lichen

I have been studying the moss and lichen this spring. The patterns and textures are amazing!
Theses photos just blow my mind!

PUZZLE SERIES:

Oxidized silver and 12K gold-fill puzzle earrings on a french  earwire.
They are shaped and cut individually so that no two are exactly alike. Random alphabet letters embellish the surface!

Well, our back door (sliding patio doors) has officially frozen itself shut! Wintertime blues! The dogs are totally confused!

Winter in Chicago
It must have snowed another 10 " last night!

Lake Effect snow....

Our Patio

Of course, there has to be a cool snow man, dressed for the weather.

These are some of the photos for our Alaska Cruise in September.  These were taken on Sept. 4.

In Vancouver we had dinner overlooking the harbor. What an amazing sunset!

Cool gnarly  tree!

We did not have a lot of time to spend in Vancouver, so we took a tour. Stanley Park was quite nice.

We stopped at a market near the harbor, had lunch and wished there was more time to spend before boarding the ship for our journey. We will just have to return to Vancouver some day!
