 NEW WORK IN PROCESS

I have been collecting natural objects for years. (Many different types)  

Lately, interesting branches have captured my attention.  I am not exactly sure how all of this will play out... but I am drawing on them with colored pencils, pen and markers.  Layers of color are repeatedly sealed with spray fixative, creating a rich surface of color. It feels like I am painting again. It is compelling and delicious! Everytime I come near these sanded, smooth branches, I want to pick them up and touch them. I LOVE the feeling. Exhilarating.

Currently, I am planning some sculptural pieces. As soon a one is ready, I will post some photos!

The program series "Craft in America" is wonderful. I watched the episode on process yesterday. I think it was 50 minutes. This is a short preview.

Ray Yoshida Retrospective at the Art Institute of Chicago's new Modern Wing.
This was one of my professors at the Art Institute of Chicago. He was a major inflence on my creative life! Check  out this show.

All of these great resources and so little time. I wish they could all link together. Some will post to each other when you set it up correctly. And then, when you would rather not post to all... oops. I forgot how to do THAT thing. As a creative person, I like to be able to do it all. And understand it.. and be in control of it. But it all takes time to really learn.
And it takes time away from new designs and true creativity.
I know I am not the only one who suffers from this problem.
This morning I read a discussion on Linked In about some of this. I will post that link, if any one is interested.
