New Oxidized Pendant

This is the pendant I just completed. It is 1 1/2" x 3 1/2", sterling silver, 18K gold and it contains piece of shell which is bezel set. I have oxidized the pendant and chain. I have mixed feelings about blackened silver. If I show this piece, I will need to create companions. It cannot be the only one like it. What do you think? Would you buy something with this look? Would you wear it?

Patty's Bead

This piece was fun to do. My friend Lou wanted a gift for his wife. He envisioned some sort of pendant or large bead with a Ginkgo Leaf and a Japanese Maple Leaf on it. Perhaps one on each side. These leaves are both part of Patty's imagery in her clothing design. So, I got to work.

I had to find images to work from... should I etch these leaves? I tried many variations. I created many proto-types. Perhaps, they will be the seed of a new series!

First, I created two halves of the bead. I assumed that I would just solder the parts together. Then, I thought about it opening...what's inside? How will it close? The bail, hinge and latch were resolved.This is the finished piece. Both Lou and Patty were thrilled. Lou took the photographs for me.

Mystery Treasures Three-Part Pendant #1: This exquisite piece is resembles a figure. The face is leaf shaped, and the head is a see-through watch crystal window filled with beads, pearls, gems, and an 18K gold background. The center section includes half oval breasts of watch crystal and gems, and the bottom piece is rutilated quartz (a clear quartz stone with golden rods of the mineral, rutile running through it).MTBX3-P/N 1.75” x 3” $1950

This piece is like a maze, the treasures appear and disappear, a changing piece of artwork to wear.3 1/2" x 1 1/4". $975.



Earth & Moon #2: The three dimensional surface of the larger, domed portion of this elegant pendant has all the textures of a planet as seen from space, complete with land masses and water (including a pearl). The bottom section represents a moon in orbit. This piece is deeply domed , hollow constructed and has 3 moveable sections. Made of & highly textured silver, 18K gold, pearl, and a fused glass drop with silver & 22K gold leaf. 3” x 1.4” x ¾ “. $595
Big Bead #9 Necklace:
This is a major statement piece. Nine large, three-dimensional pierced silver “beads” circle the neckline. A one-of-a-kind, intricate keyhole latch, invented by Barbara, turns to lock the piece. Necklace dimensions are 16" x 1 3/4". $1950.

Personage: 2 piece hollow bead post earrings. Silver, 18K gold, pearls. 3/8” x 1 ¼”. $150.

Life Line Locket:

This pendant opens! Remove one hinge pin and the door opens, revealing personal “treasures” and “arterial” cast branches. The interior of the piece suggests internal human organs, spinal column or a maze/obstacle course for the contents. This arch shaped pendant is silver and 18K gold with a watch crystal window.1 3/8” x2 ½”. $1150.

3 Ocean Pearl Pins: Fused glass with 22K gold leaf touches emulate gold doubloons, lost at the bottom of the sea, the colors surfacing from beneath the sand of the ocean floor. The pins are sterling silver, 18K gold, fused glass & pearl. The pins are available in black, cobalt blue or cranberry red. 3/8” x 2 ¾”. $160 each.

Ocean Pearl 8 Link Bracelet & Earrings: Silver textures, shapes, and forms were molded from beach shells that Barbara found on Maui beaches. The bracelet is 1” x 8”. Fused black and clear glass are combined with silver and 22K gold leaf to create these rich looking stones. The bracelet closes with a hand-made toggle catch. $375. The post earrings (5/8” x 7/8”) can have a clear or black background. $135. Clip earrings $145.

11 Piece Ocean Pearl Necklace: This is the statement piece that led to the Ocean Pearl Collection. Silver, 18K, fused glass with silver & gold leaf inside, and freshwater pearls create this dramatic 18" necklace. The center piece is ¾” x 2”. Silver textures, shapes, and forms were molded from beach shells that Barbara found on Maui beaches. The 11 individual pendants can be re-arranged or worn separately. $650.

Vast Landscape: An aerial view of a new world, including fissures with rivers running through then, farm land, ravines, and rows of rice-shaped markings. A pearl divides the piece, emerging, breaking out, leaping forward, erupting in a new birth. This piece is both a pin & pendant. It is 1.75” x 2.75” x .4” $495.

This piece is part of ther Little Village Series. Silver, 18K, fused glass, beach pebble & pearls (white & peacock colors). It is deeply domed and dramatic. The bottom drop is detachable. 1.5" x 3" x .75". Pendant is $650. The chain is separate.
